To my good friends

March 13, 2023

To my good friends,

I want to offer those who I consider my good friends an apology.  The past 2-3 years have not been easy and have not been kind to us.  We have been sad, unmotivated, and extremely angry.  You have stuck by Amy and I and have listened to us vent our frustrations.  Today I had a realization about the art I create.  That realization is that I will be a prisoner to my own thoughts for as long as I let the petty nonsense bother me.  So today I am letting go of the anger.  Moving on is not the same as forgetting.  We learned valuable lessons from the past couple of years that we will take with us for the rest of our lives.  Amy and I have kept mostly to ourselves and have been refocusing on our plans moving forward and I am sure we will ask for your help.  We will be putting the past 2 years behind us and focus on the future, and focus on our art.  We have also made the decision that we will be moving out of Nebraska at some point in the next 5-10 years.  Our hope is to move out to Washington State to be closer to a variety of wildlife.  We will also be taking on less portrait work between now and then.  We will still shoot projects that we find interesting or concepts that we find artistic, but we will not take on weddings, or senior shoots.  We just don't see the point in continuing to build a portrait business when we are moving away.  Some of you also know about a family matter that we are dealing with and we want to be free to be there for family on a moments notice.  For the time being most of our focus will be on wildlife and nature photography.  This has always been where my passion lies.  After we made that decision, we felt a great sense of freedom which we haven't felt in a long time.  In about 3 weeks I will be publicly announcing my new gallery and you get a sneak peak on what we have been working on the past 5 months.  Amy and I would be honored by your continued support and more importantly your continued friendship.  This first gallery will be dedicated to the memory of my father.  The next one will be dedicated to our friends.  Thanks for being there for us, we could not have done any of what we do without your support.
